Since ancient times, garlic has been known for its benefits to the health and has therefore been consumed by different civilizations throughout history, such as the ancient Egyptians or the Greeks, whose athletes chewed it before competing in the Olympics, or even in other past eras when it was used to treat leprosy or was even said to be a useful tool for repelling vampires…

The benefits of garlic to the health are many, including its diuretic, antiviral and antimycotic properties, having approximately 1% of the active force of penicillin and therefore being a good supplement to the latter for certain bacterial infections.

Garlic also has anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, vasodilatory and purifying properties and, furthermore, demographic surveys show that in areas in which more garlic is consumed, there is a lower incidence of oesophagus and stomach cancer.
